1. Local-first notes
Jot & Pin stores notes, notebooks, reminders, version history, drawings, preferences, and imported content locally under the user’s Windows or Android operating-system account. CPW Studio Co does not receive note contents through the app.
2. Accounts, advertising, and analytics
Jot & Pin does not require a Jot & Pin account. Version 1.0.2 contains no advertising SDK, behavioral analytics SDK, or CPW Studio Co cloud database.
3. Imports, exports, and sharing
Supported imports are processed locally. When a user exports a backup or shares a note, the user chooses the destination. A destination such as Google Drive, OneDrive, a file manager, email app, or another installed app processes the file under its own privacy terms. Jot & Pin does not automatically send the file to CPW Studio Co.
On Windows, a user may enable rotating automatic backups to a folder the user selects. On Android, version 1.0.2 provides user-directed export through the Android share sheet; automatic provider sync is not included.
4. Storage and deletion
On Windows, workspace data is normally stored under %APPDATA%\Jot & Pin. On Android, workspace data is stored in the app’s local storage. Users can delete individual notes and exported backups. Android removes ordinary local app data when the user clears app storage or uninstalls the app, subject to the device maker’s and operating system’s behavior. Windows uninstall does not automatically erase the workspace folder; the user may remove that folder manually.
5. Locked notes and security
On supported Android devices, Jot & Pin can ask Android to verify a configured fingerprint, face method, PIN, pattern, or device password before displaying a locked note. Jot & Pin receives only the success or failure result and does not receive or store biometric templates. When device verification is unavailable, a Jot & Pin PIN may be used; only a salted PBKDF2 hash is stored.
The lock is an access-control feature inside the app, not full database or backup encryption. Exported backup files are not encrypted vaults. Users should protect their operating-system account and store backups in a trusted location.
6. Updates and technical delivery data
Google Play or the Microsoft Store may process purchase, installation, update, device, and technical delivery data under the store provider’s terms. A separately distributed signed Windows version may contact the CPW Studio Co update server. CPW Studio Co does not receive note contents as part of update checking.
7. Support
A user may choose to contact support and provide information. CPW Studio Co uses submitted support information to answer the request and protect the product. Users should remove private note content and should not send passwords, signing keys, identity documents, or private files unless support first explains a secure and necessary process.
8. Children
Jot & Pin is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. The initial store release is intended for adults.
